Shalom Catholic Community

Shalom Catholic Community was born in Fortaleza, Brazil, on July 9, 1982, at the initiative of Moysés Louro de Azevedo Filho, who, along with other young university students and the encouragement of the then Archbishop of Fortaleza, His Emminence Cardinal Lorscheider, OFM, opened the first Shalom Catholic Center of Evangelization, aimed specially at young people. In 2003 Shalom Catholic Community came to Toronto to perform its work with Portuguese speaking community but along the years also worked with English speaking community. With a Charismatic spirituality Shalom Catholic Community works with evangelization and formation of the people of God through prayer groups, bible studies, courses , retreats, cultural parties, pilgrimages and more. At the moment we have 2 prayer groups in Portuguese, one of them every Thursday night at 7:30pm and another one for couples every Saturday evening,at 6:30pm, along with it it's held a special program for children; and in English,we have one prayer group for young adults and another for teenagers every Saturday evening.
