Block Rosary Group (The)

The Block Rosary Crusade was founded in Scarborough in October 1982 by circle of Filipino Families praying the Holy Rosary together everyday and every week as a group. Today the Crusade has over 600 families devided into 12 groups based within the Greater Toronto Area. Each group has several coordinators and an overall coordinator is elected every year. Quaterly meetings are conducted and several main events are held every year such as pilgrimage to the Canadian Martyrs Shrine, Anniversary Celebration, summer picnic and Christmas group celebration. Retreats and other religious trips are also conducted outside Ontario. The Block Rosary is reportedly the largest and oldest organization of its kind. Major projects and events are conducted to support its charity goals and fund raising campaign. Money raised are channeled to various charitable organizations, local parishes, schools and victims of major calamities. The main objectives of the Block Rosary are to encourage families and friends in the community to pray the Holy Rosary together, to pray for the sick, the dead and those in need of spiritual help and to pray for peace and unity in our family, our community and throughout the world.
