His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto recently visited St. Cecilia Parish for their celebration in honour of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. His feast day, commonly referred to as St. Patrick’s Day is recognized each year on March 17.

Flags representing each county and the different regions of Ireland were present, and a special shamrock was set at the foot of the altar during the offertory in honour of St. Patrick who is told to have taught the people of Ireland about the Holy Trinity using the small three-leafed clover. The Knights of Columbus were on hand as were GAA members with their hurling sticks.

Following Mass, a St. Patrick’s Day reception took place in the parish hall.

St. Cecilia parish is located in The Junction area of Toronto on Annette Street near Keele Street.
