Marriage Sunday highlights the importance of the sacrament of marriage, affirms couples who strengthen our faith community through their witness, and complements World Marriage Sunday celebrations that take place across North America. It also honours those who serve in marriage ministries, whether in marriage preparation or marriage enrichment. First celebrated in the Archdiocese of Toronto in 2011, Marriage Sunday was designated on the second Sunday of February each year (the weekend prior to the Family Day long weekend). In 2025, Marriage Sunday weekend was celebrated on February 8/9.
