Annual Mass for the Faithful Departed

Catholic Cemeteries - Archdiocese of Toronto wishes to invite all families within the Archdiocese of Toronto to participate in the Annual Mass for the Faithful Departed on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the following locations:

The Eucharistic Apostles of the Divine Mercy (EADM) Toronto Group, the 2009 29th Filipino Pilgrimage Coordinator, with the blessing of the Archdiocesan Filipino Catholic Mission (AFCM) with Fr. Ben P. Ebcas Jr. as AFCM Director, is honored to invite you to attend the 29th Filipino Pilgrimage at the Martyr's Shrine in Midland.

Spiritual and Religious Care Visitor Training

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health offers ‘'Spiritual and Religious Care Visitor Training” for clergy/faith-group leaders and lay ministers from various religions/faith-groups to enhance their skills in visiting patients/clients in hospitals and other institutions.

The 7 week – 20 hours training will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., starting September 9 to October 21, 2009 and on Saturday, October 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Candidates are offered and required to do 10 hours of direct client care as part of the course. The course will address topics such as: theological foundations for spiritual and religious care in major world religions, overview of mental illness and addiction, suicide, listening skills, working with elderly, boundaries and ethics.

Registration Fee: $ 110.00. Last date to apply is August 28, 2009. A certificate of completion will be issued to the successful candidates at the end of the course.
